okay so i have curly hair thats not all that curly but still..... n i want to get my hair straight so first of all if ur ans is goin to be get a perm or relax it or anything involve in this thats a NO i cant get a perm my mom wont let me n it damages hair..besides i dun want that..also if ur goin to say straighten it or iron it das another NO i do that almost everyday n im tire of it das y im askin this question what else can i do to turn my hair straight or at list wavy?? something like a product,cream or a treatment like that ..that i can just use ...i hear redken has a cream u apply on n just leave it but idk...so any products i can use w/ havin to straighten my hair or all of the above??

Get a Remington Wet2Straight flat iron. It doesn't cost too much. I got mine at Wal-mart and it works wonders! Use on damp hair after a shower, if you want the best results. Yes, I know you didn't want a flat iron answer, but this doesn't take too long either. Only about 15 minutes. Good luck with your hair. :]

My hair is naturaly curly and coarse textured and I recently bleached it to go completely blonde... I usually wear it straight...is there a good moisturizing treatment or a combo of shampoos that I can use to make my hair softer and healthier because right now it looks kind of dry...I need something where i will actually see a difference because I have tried many and I just don't seem to see results..anybody??

I promise you this is what I had to start using in order to help my hair. I get it done every 3 months trust me its a dry as towel out of the druer if i dont use this product. but its a little pricvey but so worth the outcome of your.

i have the same prob i have recently bought from boots lee stratford poker straight intense moisturising treatment and is really good not only treat your hair but leaves it soft shiny and straight the only downfall is you have to apply it for 5 minutes inbetween shampoo and conditionaing your hair

an old trick my mom showed but it only work if you dried out hair other wise your left with an oily mess. shampoo as normal towel dry and then put in hand lotion (as much as you would use it you were dying it) in wrap it clear wrap let 20 mins and then shower and shampoo again and dry as normal. the type of lotion that has worked best for has been a cheap coco butter but nothing too thick. sounds strange but it works.

I got my hair thermal reconditioned and the results were not what i had expected. I felt like the hair person did not put in all her effort. Now, the ends of my hair has small waves to it, my natural hair is slightly wavy, but I have very thick hair. This is my fifth time doing the process, in 2 and a half years. The ends of my hair are still shiny, and is not breaking off like weak, brittle hair. so, is it possible to restraighten it after about four months? perhaps after a protein treatment just in case?

When I did this, and I add I have VERY Kinky curly hair, I never got completely straight hair! I still had to hit it each morning with the flat iron! It just relaxed some of the curls!

I had it done ever 4-6 months! I was a hair model for the salon I used, so I assume it was ok! I didn't have any hair fall out or anything dramatic like that! I did however do ALOT of conditioning and anything I put inot my hair had vitamin E in it!

I haven't done this in quite a while, simply because if I have to use the flat iron anyway, why not save the money and flat iron it all together!

Good luck! But as I said, I had it done that frequently and had no major issues! Just make sure to check with your stylist, some may have salon rules to the length of time between treatments, the one I use now does have such rules! (not sure what they are exactly, just know they have them!) Anyway, always remember condition condition condition!

That is what the studies show.

With Geodon watch the irregular heart beat, issue. Not as bad as first reported, but still there.

It varies from person to person. The only way to know what side effects you'll experience is to try it. If the side effects are more than you can handle you and your doctor can try something else. Personally, Geodon merely made me constantly nauseous. I didn't stay on it for long because of that.

My mum is 61 and she has always has lovely dark brown hair and barely any grey. Over the past couple of years she has taken to getting blonde highlights, maybe once or twice a year. The last time she had it done, before christmas, the hair stylist put on too much blonde and left it in too long. Over the past couple of weeks it has started to get very dry and brittle. She has decided not to bleach it again but is very down about how its looking at the moment. We got her an intensive conditioning treatment from Lush, and I wondered if getting a semi permanent or temp hair colour close to her natural shade might bring black the glossiness and make it look less brittle. And also cheer her up! Thanks in advance for your advice.

Absolutely. I am a hairstylist, and I would strongly recommend her to start glazing her hair. Rather than covering her highlights with a permanent color that has ammonia, a glaze has no ammonia, and is a deposit only color. Being that it is deposit only, it covers and protects the hair's cuticle, giving back the glossiness to the hair. The only thing with a glaze, is it does wash out the first few times, but on a positive note, it does not damage. It will start to hold better and better, so even if she does this every 6 weeks with her trim, it won't hurt, and it will start to hold the color better and better with each treatment. Also, if she goes in 10 minutes early for her treatments, she can get deep conditioned under the dryers. I find that this too helps clients that feel overprocessed that come to me from other salons. good luck, hope this helps.

It sounds crazy but sometimes its the time of year. I find mine is falling out a lot at the mo to. But not so much at the end of winter into summer. If you use a lot of product it can fall out to. not through a reaction, but if the product keeps it fixed when you wash it out all that would have fallen out naturally during the day just comes out at once

GURL u have come to da rite person... use Dove shampoo and try to use less conditioner. maybe try to avoid it. if u do use conditioner, wash it out very throughly. dont leave any hint in.

NEXT. when u brush ur hair, brush it in sections. small sections.

LAST. when u tie your hair use a scrunchie that's made of fabric. NOT ELASTIC..

That should do the trick... it will improve in about at least 1 week.

As for treatments, try using shampoos or conditioners labelled "for dry/damaged hair" or perhaps even anti-dandruff shampoos, as such conditions could lead to your hair falling out.

Don't fret though, an average person malts 100+ hairs a day. Mine are everywhere and I'm not a growing teen. If it concerns you though, go and see your doctor, don't ask over Yahoo Answers for crying out loud.

Also, please buy some proper hairbands. Using an elastic band is just *asking* for your hair to be torn out.

I've dyed my hair nearly ten times, and got it bleached out about five. The first few times the salon had to keep re-bleaching my hair to get the old color out, and the result was horrible. My hair was yellow afterwards and was extremly dried out, poofy, and fried. Its lost so much texture and weight since then, and its just full of spilt ends now. I dyed it a dark ash blonde though, becauce I could not stand the yellow bleached look. Now I need something to restore some of its health. I've tryed all drugstore products and some helped but I need to try something better. I was thinking perhaps a protein treatment? But I'm not sure. I need something to make my hair less frizzy and dried. I don't mind if its extremly expensive I just need something that will work. Like any deep conditioners? Serums? Gels? Leave-in-conditoners? Special treatments?

Wella's Kolestral is one of my all-time favorites for dried-out dyed hair. It's a deep moisturizer and you can find it at most beauty supply places (like Sally). It should be around $5-$8.

It's been awhile since I used it, but you put it on towel-dried hair, and wrap your head in a hot towel for 15-20 minutes, then rinse. Applying heat like a blow dryer is optional. Instructions are on the tube and easy to follow for one-time or repeated use.

I could always tell a big difference immediately. Sounds like you might really benefit from a good trim, too.

Hi there i had very curly hair before i give birth to my baby in nov 05 .I breast feed for a year ,and thought that the curl would come back when things I stopped and things settle. I have had a treatment in it but nothing is happening . It is getting worse if not better now its not fuzzy but straight. I have red hair and had big curls. Im considering getting a perm. Be careful with perms!!! Especially after having a baby. Your hair changes due to chemical changes in your body. Consult with your stylist before making any dramatic changes. Perming solutions are not great for your hair at all and most times perms end up looking fuzzy. I personally think that straight is nicer than fuzzy.

Maybe invest in some heated rollers for those times when you're going out and you want nice curls. Good luck

i used to hair a small mole on the side of my head a little higher then where the arm of my eyeware is located and ever since the mole was cut off from a haircut the hair in that spot grows out white/grey...i dont know why but i would like to know if their is a treatment or something i could do to have my original hair color grow back in instead of that off colored patch?

I'm not sure if having the mole removed could've damaged the follicles there or not (and even if it did, I'm not sure what that'd have to do with a loss of pigmentation)... it's possible that it's just a coinidence and as far as I know dye is the only thing that can help.

You can try protein treatments, but not everyones hair can take that. Sorry to say tho but If your hair is that damaged, the reason its not looking like its growing thick is because the breakage/split ends are growing up the hair shaft, making your hair weaker higher up. The more time that goes by without you cutting it off, the worse it gets. THe best you can do is cut it above the split ends, or the most damage, and let it grow out. Otherwise it will never look like it is growing or getting thicker.

I am a hair stylist and I use AVEDA products exclusively because they are the best and very natural. They have a great product called Damage remedy that is the first Ive found that actually reverses damage. You also want to use the Redken product CAT which is a protein spray that will help you regain strength again. Also if you can find an aveda salon in your area get a Damage remedy strength treatment by a professional. It has fabulous results immeadiately.

I know this sounds totally gross, but try mayonnaise. There's things in there that promote good things for hair.I bleached my hair and it gets so damaged and frizzy but as soon as I put mayonnaise in there and take it out, my hair is soooo smooth and soft and shiny, almost like it's never been bleached. If you want to know more, type in "mayonnaise hair treatment" on google.

Also Olive Oil makes your hair silky and smooth... it doesn't repair any damage like mayonnaise, but it at least smooths your hair and makes it shiny and soft.

And you have to trim your hair to get split ends off, otherwise they keep splitting all the way up because they never get cut off.

I'm trying to grow back out a bad cut and some damage left from a chemical straightener about 7 months ago. I got extensions in the sides since the guy (from a quote reprible salon) that cut my hair saying he had to cut most of the damage off got carried away and cut my hair in choppy short layers and more layers on the sides than anywhere else. The sides are hard to do since they aren't mine, but at least the make my hair almost all once length looking even though it's still in long layers and the natural curl is growing back in about 3 inches and then straight on the ends. It is all about chin length and layered up real bad - actually looked better before the guy chopped it all up even though it was damaged, at least it was shoulder length and could be pulled back then. Needless to say, I'm not very trusting of beauticians at this point. I had a bad chemical treatment by one, a bad chopped up cut by another, and now have had to resort to temporary extensions - about 15 per side.

Oh, you poor thing. I'm so sorry that happened.

Get rid of all the extensions and let your hair and scalp heal for a while.

No matter how bad it gets, you can always cut it off and it will grow back.

try using a mild hair gel or maybe after washing her hair, apply some hair oil on her wet hair and comb it then itself. The weight of oil will keep her hair down and make it more manageable!

if you don't want to use chemicals then just either blow dry it with a flat paddle brush or use the flat iron...the only way to make her hair straight is to use chemicals...you could try a texturizer..this is like a mini relaxer..it will loosen up the curl..but it won't make it straight unless you comb it and strech it when the solution is on her head...

I have super curly, extremely thick hair as does my daughter. I have never had my hair chemically straightened. I finally found an excellent beautician. She cuts my hair in LONG layers (so the ends lay flat) and she actually cuts pieces out of my hair to thin it. NEVER let anyone use thinning shears or a razor to cut or thin her hair. It will actually make it look fuller!

I never brush my hair after it is dry and sometimes use a brush while conditioner is still in my hair as I rinse. I have to wash my hair first thing in the morning or it is a frizz ball. I like to use Redken All-Soft shampoo and conditioner, but I have found that a cheap alternative is Suave's version of Redken's Fresh Curls. While still damp, I use about a squirt of Redken's Align or Spin control. In extra humidity, I also use Redken's Guts. When dry, I scrunch and fluff to separate the curls.

I use Align when I am straightening too. I use a Babyliss tourmaline straightening iron. It gets really hot... be careful and use a low setting and keep the iron moving in order to avoid scorching her hair. Good luck!

Good for you and your daughter for keeping her hair natural! Well, if you want to stay away from the heat (which is an excellent idea), I would say to braid or twist it at night (while damp, not wet) and put a scarf on. This should tame the frizziness and it will give her nice waves, instead of straight. You can also put small twists or braids in her hair and she can style it anyway that you style while it is straight. This will give her versatility and you won't have to do it daily!

A friend of mine is the same age and has been dealing with the same exact hair issue. Her doctor told her to go off of her birth control so that help with the hair loss, but she hasn't been able to find anything that works for regaining what has been lost. All hair treatment options are to expensive for trial and error, so the only thing I would suggest is looking into hair implants. All though this is very costly as well, you know your getting the end result that your looking for.

1)Hot Oil Treatment

1/2 cup olive oil

1/2 cup boiling water

Place olive oil and boiling water into large glass bottle or jar with a lid. You may need to wrap a towel around the bottle to avoid burning yourself. Shake very well until oil is emulsified. Massage into hair, taking care not to burn your head. Put a shower cap or plastic bag over your hair and wrap your head in a hot towel that has been soaked in hot water then wrung out. Leave mixture on your hair for 1/2 hour, then shampoo as usual

2)Egg Conditioner

1 egg yolk

1/2 tsp olive oil

3/4 cup lukewarm water

Beat egg yolk until it is thick and light colored. Slowly drizzle drops of oil into egg, beating well. Slowly add and beat the water into the egg mixture. Transfer mixture to a container. After shampooing, massage all conditioner into hair and leave on for a few minutes before thoroughly rinsing.

There're too many treatments to read through, but I'll go for treatment number one. The oil will make your hair shiney and whilst I've heard about egg hair treatments, too, be careful that you don't end up with bits of cooked egg (from the hot water) in your hair.

Keep in mind that if you have an oily scalp this treatment is not for you.

I'm thinking about making my hair a bit thinner. My hair is VERY thick. It's 2 inches long. Am I ready to go to a barber and have them use thinning scissors? Like what should I tell them for the thinning treatment (should I tell them to thin it all out, or what do most boys do?) I don't want it extremely thinned out, but just to the point where it doesn't look frizzy and I don't want my hair to look like a freaking bush. Think it could work out?

PLEASE PLEASE read this before you go tell them to do that though. Only tell them to use the thinning shears if you get your haircut on a regular basis. The thinning shears go in and cut every other hair out, okay?! So at first, it really does help. It works wonders. But, when your hair starts to grow back, the pieces that got cut off by the thinning shears are shorter than the hair that didn't get cut, right?! So what they do is act as a cushion to push the longer hair up, which actually causes your hair to look and feel thicker, and can make it twice as hard to do anything with it. So unless you get your hair cut every 2-4 weeks (depending on how fast your hair grows), I do NOT recommend getting this done. I used to do hair, and would run into this problem all the time.

yea just tell em you want it lightly thinned all around with thinning shears, i get that done every few weeks. It only cuts some of the hair, but it makes it thin and less clumpy and thick. It's good stuff. It'll work bro, just tell em lightly thinned.

Your scalp is probably producing more oil due to the product you are using, if you color or process your hair and then use a product that doesn't condition well, you are overdrying your hair and your scalp and making your oil glands produce more oil than usual. Try using a gentle shampoo that won't over strip your hair and don't rinse with really hot water, cooler will help your folices relax and keep your scalp from pumping out more oil. Store brands, try Pantene daily moisture renewal for a more natural product try the Aussie line like Aussie moist and their 3 minute miracle conditioner pack, and I would recommend getting a bottle of their leave in spray conditioner called hair insurance, spray it on the ends of your hair but not your scalp. Salon brands I would go with Joico's K-Pak brand. It works great! You can get free samples right now of their K-Pak stuff. Link is below. One other thing, sounds weird but my mom has done hair since the 60's and growing up we did mayonaise packs in our hair a couple of times a month after coloring or perming, use the full fat regular style, works best applying it to dry hair, cover with a plastic grocery bag for 20-30 minutes then wash and condition your hair. You may need to wash a couple of times then condition and beware, the shower will be very slick so use care so you don't fall. This treatment is cheap and works good. You may need to get a trim too, to get rid of some of the bad dry ends.

Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner for dry brittle hair. after you wash your hair squeeze water out then apply conditioner comb through and leave on hair while you bath and shave your legs. when you get ready to rinse conditioner out turn your head over and rinse from underneath. as you would if you were washing your hair in a sink. towel dry and use redkin anti snap leave in. the trick is to allow your hair enough time to absorb the conditioner. your hair is like a sponge the more water you get out before the conditioner, the more the hair will absorb. also rinsing underneath will allow more conditioner to stay on the top of the hair which has the most exposure to the elements

On Saturday (Sept 29) I dyed my hair that is naturally dirty blonde (but had blonde streaks that had grown out about 3 inches) a dark red. Fad wore off, wanted my dirty blonde/highlited hair back again. On Oct. 1 Bleached it (using a platinum blonde dye), turned Orange (which I figured would happen), so I dyed it a medium brown. It's now a coppery brown, almost strawberry blonde color now. I want to go to a medium blonde , but are afraid to. What should I do? Should I just buy a dirty blonde hair dye and hope for the best? I want to try and stay away from a salon (though I know it's probably my best option right now) as I can't really afford it. I'm OK with the color it is right now - I mean, it's not like I feel I have to dye it right away because I hate it, but I do like the blonde the best (through trial and error...)

Blonde hair color will not be able to lift out the brown, only bleach will do that.

The reason your hair turned orange before is because you did not leave the bleach on long enough.

If you absolutely cannot afford to go to a salon, try visiting a beauty school. They may not be professionals yet, but they'll have a much better idea of what to do than you will. They'll also be able to decide if your hair is in good enough condition to be bleached over again.

If it's not, the best you might be able to do is shampoo with baby shampoo to fade the color, and wait it out. Or remove some length.

You need to lift and then re-dye. Your hair will be trashed, so treat very, very delicately afterwards: tons of heavy conditioning, STOP COLORING for a while, and limit hot tools.

whatever your do DO NOT COLOR AGAIN. it will drain all the moisture out of your hair and damage it. if you go to a beauty supply store you may be able to find a dye stripping agent, it will help you get back to your natural color. once you do that wait about a month or so before dying you hair again, unless the stripping agent directs otherwise. when you decide to go darker with your hair, dont do a solid color because the results are usually intense. try low lights next time, im sure they would look wonderful against your natural hair :) if you cannot get ahold of the stripping agent the best thing to do is go to a salon. good luck!

NO, dont even try to attempt it now. You need to wait awhile. It will fry your hair and you wont get the color you want. It would be an uneven color. Currently i have long hair and have been learning alot so...

i do not have a relaxer i stopped getting them 5 years ago ( and i've only have 3 relaxers in my life time so this is all natural) so i can show you how to take care of hair without a relaxer. These are the basics, so i will answer your question totally. Often times there is many solutions to one problem.

1. The shampoo, unfortunately many black women are using shampoos with alcohol and petroleum jelly. step away from them. Use Aveda's shampoo.. specifically the name is Brilliant...go to the website. I use it, i love it, it mouisterizes my hair and the products are natural. i have also heard that KeraCare is good.

2. Okay, step two condition it and then it is time to comb it out, Do not use a brush on you hair when it is wet,,it will hate you for it then break off in revenge. Put your your sections use a big tooth comb, to untangle it

3. Do a hot oil treatment atleast once a month with extra virgin olive oil...repeat..EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil..not the regular stuff. unfortunately i have yet to take this step however my hair is doing great.

4. Okay on the daily basis you need to pay close attention to your hair...i recommend conditioning your scalp(3-4 times a week) and your ends(everyday) so that they will not get dry and unhealthy Petroleum jellly and mineral oil are weapons of mass destruction ( in other words do not use grease) it does so much harm to your hair it cannot be all explained here. So you ask what do I use...well natural oils grapeseed oil ( use it for hair it deflects heat so it is good for flat iron users like us)

jojoba oil(i use this for my scalp), extra virgin olive oil, sesame oil, emu oil, coconut oil...all these natural oils and more love you..i promise.

I also use Aveda's Brilliant ( the name of the brand) emollient for my ends.

5. Next,,if you want your hair straight but still be natural it is time to get a freakin good flat iron.,i have the Chi..it does the job but I recommend getting the Sedu because of the good reviews. make sure to protect your hair..i have so thermal protector from Aveda. When flat ironing your hair do not let the iron stay on your hair for too long, just 1-2 quick swipes.

6. If you have a relaxer ( i have heard that Mizani and Affirm are the best relaxers) don't continue to relaxer all your hair everytime you go to the salon..just the new growth and try to stretch relaxers as long as possible.

7. You do not need to trim your hair everytime you go to the salon maybe every 3 to 6 months.

8. Wrap your hair in a satin or silk scarf to prevent damage before you go to bed.

9. Eat healthy, drink lots of water,

10 take multivitamins, and fish oil pills you can get from GNC.

Follow these steps and life will be good..the best part about flat iron (which i do once a week or every two weeks not everday since it will kill your hair) is that it is not stringy but thick and healthy, yet straight and light enough to blow in the wind

My hair has always been full and thick. So much that it used to be a problem. But now its getting thinner on top and constantly oily. I've never had this problem until about 2 years ago. Any thoughts? I Have seven children and yes, I've heard all of the jokes about how anyone with seven kids would have their hair fall out...but seriously, I'm not over worked or stressed that I am aware of. I do keep busy...but don't feel I'm over doing it. A hair dresser once told me the last child I had could affect my hair if it was a boy. But it wasn't...it was a girl. Is there any cause for this and does anyone know of a treatment? I've tried shampoos/conditioners with no results. I'm only 35 and don't want to go bald! My mothers hair is just fine! Help? Thanks!

You should have read the directions on the box. The box of hair color's directions clearly say to do a test spot. To cover the pain.. Talk to your doctor about pain killers.

okay a while ago tried darkening my hair to a darker brown

and it came out JET BLACK. i was horrified lol but i went to shoppers and talk to a cosmetologist and told me to use head and shoulders cause it takes out color (she spoke from experience) so i've been using it and it does work, it's ALOT lighter and there are certain spots in my hair in the back and underneath you can see my hair color from before. Is there anyway i can dye it back now? do i continue shampooing treatment? should i wait until it goes lighter and if it does can i dye a lighter brown over top and will it work?? heLPP!

If it is still uneven in color and you wish to even it out then yeah, you can redye it. If the front parts are still a bit dark then put the dye on the back part of your hair first and only put dye on the front (darker) parts for the last half of your coloring time. If you want to try to lighten it a bit more before you dye, joy soap is also good at lifting color out of your hair. Make sure you condition very well after though as it is a bit harsh and wait at least another day between doing this and re-dying.

If you desire your hair to be even lighter than the level you have already achieved then you could also try a soap cap. Get bleach powder and 40volume developer from Sally or any beauty supply store. You will probably only need to mix half of the pack unless you have longer hair. Then mix with equal parts shampoo and put onto your hair. Cover with a plastic cap and time for about 15 minutes, and rinse out. This will not give dramatic results but they will be noticeable. Make sure you apply it evenly to avoid patchy areas.

personally i suggest if you want to fix the dye job go to a hair saloon and get them do it for you.

How long has it been since you dyed your hair the first time? It's recommended that you wait at least a month, but preferably three after dying your hair to attempt to dye it a new color.

Because your hair is spotty, I would really suggest going to a salon to have your hair re-dyed. If you can't afford a salon, look to see if there are any cosmetology schools near you--they're usually pretty inexpensive. I HIGHLY suggest going to a salon because if you don't, your hair will likely still end up spotty due to the fact that your hair is several different colors to begin with.

Its not good to keep dying your hair, I'm speaking from experience, I tried to dye my hair blonde and it went ginja, then i dyed it black to cover it up and that took months to disappear. then i dyed it red. Now its dark brown with blonde streaks in it. I have noticed my hair has gone really thin and it get greasy really quickly. I hate it. I think if you really hate the colour of your hair then you should try and use wash in and wash out. This usally doesn't work if you have dark hair, but if you really want to dye your hair then try not to mix the colour about then it wont go dark. Or maybe get some advice from the hair dressers.

I'd say either get lighter hightlights to make the hair a bit lighter, or go to your hairdresser and let her lighten it a few shades lighter. I wouldn't go and just dye it from a box (or whatever you use) because it may not turn out the color you expected. Anyway, good luck :)

Although you might drop $100-$150 on a good color, you will save a lot of time and money in the long run from trying to do it yourself. Big Plus- They can have a sexy result customized just for you in one visit.

I used to always use head and shoulders but the dandruff was still there... you need to get neutrogena dandruff shampoo and conditioner.. it has tea tree oil in it and WORKS!!! Also try taking a multi vitamin everyday.. as for the frizz try using some products from the line.. frizz ease .. they have a lot of great products!!

Your wife is wrong. There is no scientific evidence despite repeated studies that demonstrate shaving off hair causes it to grow thicker. Waxing would not do it either.

Not true. I am a professional cosmetologist and I hear that a lot from my customers. I don't know who has been spreading that rumor, but they're wrong. When you wax, you are ripping the hair out of its follicle. Depending on the growth stage the hair is in (every hair is at a different stage at the same time) then you are going to destroy the follicle and that follicle will no longer produce hair. It takes a long time to see a big difference in the amount of hair growth because of the amount of hair follicles over the body, but over time you will notice less growth than when you start. OK, this is how I understand it.

Shaving does not cause more hair growth but with repeated shaving over time it can cause the hairs to become coarser and possibly cause re-growth to become faster due to stimulation of the follicle.

The reason that hair shaved just once or twice seems coarser when it re-grows is not down to stimulation of the hair follicles but because you see the blunt cut end re-growing and not the natural pointed tip which comes back after waxing.

Just thinking "aloud", it would be interesting to study pairs of men preferably closely related and close in age (to at least partially eliminate genetic and other variation), one who never shaved his face and one who had been shaving for years to see if this bears out in reality. Is male facial hair naturally coarser, thicker and faster growing than elsewhere on the body or is it down to constant shaving?

I have read that waxing can, in some individuals, increase hair growth but I don't know that's more hair, faster or coarser or a combination of these things. However, for most people (including myself) the exact opposite is true, that is, less, slower and finer re-growth. This is due to follicles being damaged by ripping the hair out.

After my first treatment I got very nauseated and I could tell that my mouth was effected. Food tasted different and the center of my toungue could not taste anything. Also, my inside of my cheeks feel "thicker" and numb. My hair on my head has also began to fall out just a little. I had radiation to the pelvic area for uterine / cervical cancer and was told that I shouldn't have side effects anywhere other than the treatment area and most of the side effects would not occur until about the third week of treatment. I had a PET scan two days prior to the first radiation treatment. Could it be possible that the radioactive dye caused these symptoms or that the treatment was worse due to the residual of the dye? The cancer center is closed during the holidays so I thought I would try to get answers here. Thanks in advance.

I doubt the PET had anything to do with it. Most people do experience these symptoms a couple weeks after first treatment, but it varies from person to person.

Even though only your pelvic area is being raidiated, it is effecting the rest of your body. The hair loss, nausea, and mouth issues are common.

You should already be on anti nausua meds, if not, get a hold of the oncall doc and get an rx for some. An antacid will also help.

For your mouth, you need to use saline mouth wash (you can mix your own salt and water if you want, warm water is better), and brush with an extremly soft tooth brush (my experience is that you cant find as soft as you need in reg stores... may need to ask your pharmacy or treatment center). You can also get an rx called magic mouthwash. It is medicated to keep any sores from getting infected and has lidocaine to help with any pain. The radiation messes with the saliva, which is why your checks feel thicker and numb.

As far as taste goes... eat things with a strong taste, use plastic utensils instead of metal. Suck on hard candy.

I had a nasty metallic taste all during radiation but it shouldn't cause hair fall out. Are you also doing chemo? That might cause the hair loss. The dye used in the PET scan should have already been cleared from your body via liver and kidneys. Your primary doctor should be able to answer your questions, or whoever is on call for her/him.

i was told the same thing, id don't think that the PET scan had anything to do with it. my radiologist oncologist said Evey time i did not feel good was that it had nothing to do with the radiation treatments. i felt as if my throat was closing up and that i had pains in my chest area. I have breast cancer, i also felt nauseous and he said it had nothing to do with radiation he said that it was coming from the chemo. my cancer oncologist blames it on the radiation. so who ever, what ever. we just have to deal with it. sorry to say!

I am going through the exact same thing. My hair use to be very thick over the years it has thinned dramatically. I had a blood test done because i knew it was abnormal and something was wrong. It turns out i had severe iron deficiency anemia which caused this. my hair loss has still not corrected yet. I suggest you first get blood tests done. See whats wrong on the inside. Then look up on google the vitamin Saw Palemetto ... am using this for hair loss and i am a female its supposed to be really good. i have only used it for 2 weeks yet. You should try too. In the mean time just stick to your normal shampoo no special one needed as they dont work and go to your doc. Good luck chick and just want to say you are not alone. i am 20 and been going through this for 2 years and its ruined my social life. xx

are you on new medications? even over the counter meds can cause more hair loss. there isnt anything you can really do besides get hair transplants.

another thing to do to hide it a little-is have shorter hair-the shorter it is, the less noticeable it will be. you can use all the "thickeners" or "volumizing" products out there, but none of them really work in your case.

I dyed my hair black, but decided to go back to my natural blond today. I have tried to bleach my hair TWICE now, but only the roots are going blond! The tips of my hair are now a dark red, and will not go blond. What am I doing wrong? I have left the bleach in for 3 hours now with the hope that it will finally go blond. STOP right now unless you wand to be bald. im a hairdresser and have experiance with bleach. the reason your roots are blond is because thats virgin. if the ends havent gotten lighter with 2 times you bleach them they arnt going to especially if your hair color was from the drug store or grocery store those are really hard to get out. so stay away from those. your hair cuticle is too blown out. dont leave the bleach on so long because its only damaging ur hair. i know ive gone through it my self. ur best bet is to go back to one dark solid color and get a hair cut and consult a good stylist.

I know how you feel. I have to sit under the dryer for 40 minutes to get my hair to go blonde, and that is with a 40 volume bleach! Go to a hair dresser and try to get it done. Their bleach tends to work better, but I have heard that manic panic bleach works well and they are used to bleaching out color because most of the people who use it color their hair frequently. And it is not good to leave bleach on that long seeing as it is a strong chemical and you don't want to harm your scalp. Eventually your hair will get blonde, mine always does. YOu should use deep conditioners however to rejuvinate your hair after the bleach.

i only prem my hair with olive oil perm once every six in a half weeks to two months because my hair is thin and i use pantene pro-v provtreatment intensive restoration treatment every two weeks and i use pantene pro-v shampoo and conditioner for woman of color with amino proteins

Pantene pro-V is really packed with protein and people do not realize this, but too much protein will dry your hair out eventually. I keep pantene conditioner around the house for times when I need a boost or a good treatment, about every 2-3 weeks. I would recommend something with panthenol in it to aid in keeping it healthy from the perms. I would also recommend Nexxus Nioxin for the thinning or Nutri-ox which is comparable but not as costly. Nioxin is found in salons only and Nutri-ox can be found at beauty supply houses such as Sally's. A really good product line you could try is Farouk. dont perm your hair for awhile its the best thing u can do for it, preming is not going to help at all, it will actually probably thin it out more. If you still insist on perms then go to a professional, Im not saying u dont know what your doing its just that salons have more access to professional products because they are lisenced. Also while your there they could run a strand test on your hair to check the health. Pantene by the way isn't the best thing you could be using. First off its tested on animals (poor bunnies get the **** in their eyes so we can have nice hair) and second off their is much better products out there. Try paul mitchel....their line of products is amazing, and cruelty free. Its sold in most stores rite aid etc. But they have more paul mitchel products available in salons, plus if you buy it in a salon its guaranteed...but a few dollars more. Pick a good deep conditioner from them to use about once a week and a shampoo/conditioner for daily use from them. It might also help to not shampoo your hair only every other day... theirs natural oils in your hair that help protect it. Well good luck!!

I got a really bad perm about 1 month ago. It broke off patches of my hair right at the root. They have been giving me deep conditioning treatments for 4 weeks not, but my hair is still falling out about 50X more than usally. My questions.

What else can be done or what products can I use to stop the hair from breaking and falling out?

Also, the hair that is growing back is about 3/4 of an inch and it sticking straight up. The salon said I should not use gels and stuff to hold it down due to the damage. Any suggestion to stop the spiking hair?

Been there, had that . . . they had mistakenly refilled the neutralizer bottle with more perm lotion.

And once the hair is fried, that is all she wrote. They gave me every expensive conditioner they had but nothing can reverse fried. Only the new stuff growing out will be OK, and it does come in straight up, but that is temp until it gets longer again.

Personally your hair is under lots of stress ....you already know that.....but what to do.....hrmmm.....well the chemincal alcopecia that has started due to the chemical is already in process....not sure if this is what you would like but have you given some thought to a wig.....just to allow your hair to grow and not worry about the spikes....hair is like air if we have enough no one worries but when we loose it we freak....ive had to shave my head on many occasions because people have done a OPPS....a setting lotion might help the spiking.....and maybe aid in your scalp healing itself......

Yup sorry to hear that...It happened to me back in the day - broke right at the root where the roller hit my scalp - I had a patch of good hair then nothing alternating all the way around my head it felt like a military buzz cut in the broken areas. Something similar happened to me a few years ago, I eventually got it all cut off, try and wait until you have at least 2" of growth before carrying this out, I now have shoulder length hair and instead of perming it I use rollers to achieve curls when I want them and keep it straight when I don't

I've now learnt to treat my hair with respect. It is naturally brown and I went blonde last year. I also tried a store's own chemical straightening cream to see if I could make it smoother %26amp; straighter. Big fat mistake. A few days later the front strands went wrinkly and damaged, then broke off. I now have what looks like a thick fringe gone wrong, and I always clip it back so people don't see what a mess it is. It has grown a few inches since but is still damaged and I still get the odd few strands breaking off. I use a good conditioner/treatment; is there anything else I can do to help it apart from wait for the healthy hair to grow?? I'm growing it now and will never put chemicals on it again until I go grey. Any vitamins I can take? I eat a very healthy diet %26amp; exercise, and wash my hair every other day. I don't think extensions would help would it? thanks

lol yeah bleaching hair and then chemically straightening, recipie for disaster.

i had colour correction last yr - brown hair dyed bk to blonde, my hair took quite a battering (shud of known better really lol)...

so solution...

1) do deep conditioning treatments, weekly - use a reconstructor conditioner - this helps repair the hair

2)use a leave in conditioner after washing hair - this helps detangle the hair

3)avoid using heat on the hair if u can - no hairdryers etc. let hair dry naturally and if u do use a hairdryer, use a thermal protection spray.

4) avoid having any chemical treatments on the hair - unless uve already dyed it and jus need roots doing, avoid putting the hair colour on ur ends. if u havent dyed it - dont think about it.

5) getting regular hair cuts - 4-6 weeks.

hair grows average 1/2 inch per month and theres no miracle to make it grow faster. make sure sure u have a balanced diet this will help.

when ur hair is strong enough - in about 6 months time or so, if u do want long hair, u cud try having hair extensions - weave/sewn in 1s r better. ur own hair is braided and strips of hair sewn in - this gives ur hair a chance to grow etc. avoid glue extensions they jus cause damage. (i currently have weave in extensions)

** if conditioners are reconstructing 1s - they penetrate deep into the hair shaft and help repair any damage already caused then help smooth down the cuticle. no offense but i think i kno what i'm talking about.

It sounds like the hair is permanently damaged. Did you do both of these processes close together? You could go to a salon for an evaluation. But the wrinkly appearance that you speak of sounds like the damage is permanent. You may have to cut off as much of the damaged hair as possible while the healthy hair grows or maybe buy a wig.

I'd say the worst possible thing you could do is wash it every day, even if it is messed up.

Go and see a hair stylist and he/she will give you an all natural serum to leave in... this would replace washing it and will leave your hair soft and deprived of all static electricity and grit that's left behind from all the treatment.

Stay away from hair straightners/curlers/dryers etc. Only use a towel and dry your hair softly... Remember to put in vatiman oil for repairing broken and spilt strands, you should see results in 2 weeks! Good luck

Vitamin C helps too:D There is supposedly antioxidant that helps maintain skin %26amp; hair health. Examples: Citrus fruits [like orange], strawberries, kiwi, cantaloupe, pineapple, tomatoes, green peppers, potatoes and dark green vegetables

Vitamin E - Antioxidant that enhances scalp circulation. Food sources: Cold-pressed vegetable oils, wheat germ oil, soybeans, raw seeds and nuts, dried beans, and leafy green vegetables.

Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5) - Prevents graying and hair loss. Food sources: Whole grain cereals, brewer's yeast, organ meats and egg yolks. Daily dose: 4-7 mg.

They told me i should by this stuff, before drying your hair apply the gel on your hair and rub it in ! So i got some and it is Great, it was only 鎷?6 to and the woman said it will last for ages ! It is also in a green bottle ! And it make your hair smell really nice too !

In some cases washing the hair too much can make it greasy, your scalp produces the oils to try and keep up with the loss of oils.

HOWEVER I presume you started to over wash only due to this problem, so try these things:

Apple cider vinegar...stinks but use it as a rinse, leave it for say ten mins then rinse out with baby shampoo.

ALWAYS make sure that the LAST rinse is with CLEAN COLD water.

Lavender (8 sprigs) or camomile (small handful)...soak some lavander in a cup of hot water...use as above as a rinse.

Hmmmm gosh there are so many...but these are the best I think.

DO NOT over brush your hair, doing this produces more oils...also use a vented brush.

If they don't work, check that you are having a healthy diet, not too much protein (red meat)...eat healthy veg and fruit (not too many just a good balanced amount).

Ive gotten every type of shampoo and treatment, from Store Products to Salon Products...none work. I have to blowdry my hair, cause I have school in the morning, so i take showers in the morning... If you have all these attendant hair problems, the first thing to do is stop abusing your hair. Don't dye it, don't perm it, don't rebond it, don't attack it with hair creams and gels and sprays, straightening irons and crimpers unless it's a special occasion. Blowdrying naturally dries out your hair, so if possible, try to get it down to slightly damp and let it dry out naturally. If it takes a long time for it to dry, shower earlier in the evening. Blow downwards, not up!

A really great shampoo/conditioner for dandruff is

Frederic Fekkai the Sensitive Scalp line (nice way to say dandruff) it even smells great like suntan lotion.

The other products from this brand are excellent. I be there are other things that would help you as well - The Protein RX line has repairative things and there is a shea butter to add moisture as well. It is on the pricier side ($22 a bottle) but you only need a very little amount it is highly concentrated and goes a long way. I have friends that have really bad dandruff and nothing has worked for them except for this line. I personally also use different areas and love it.

oook, I can give u natuaral perscriptions if u wish, so let's analyse tur problems:

for dry hair u can use coconut oil (or if ur not happy with the smell use nut oil) 2ice a week, olive oil 3 times a week ( u can also mix them n use鑼卪).

for dandruffs u can use half a glass of venigar mixed with 1 or 2 glass of warm boild warer. use this after washing ur hair. just slowly shower ur head with it n massage the roots of ur hair.and when using shampoo for a loooong hair u need 1 table spoon shampoo mixed with 2 to 4 table spoos of water n for short hair 1 tea spoon mixed with 3 tea spoons of warm water.

try using boiled water for washing ur hair as the water of ur living area may have negative effects on ur hair.

and finally the hot oil treatment ur taking is a good idea keep it up n may u reach the best result u deserve.

Get a friend to help! I've highlighted so many of my friends' hair from boxes and it always looks great. I really like the Feria and Herbal Essences highlight kits, but be sure to read the directions and make sure that that kit will work for your hair type. Then just section off the sections you want highlighted, and depending on how thick they are you can either leave them on your hair (thinner highlighted sections) or fold them in foil (thicker) and then just follow the directions and it'll look great!

It seems like blonde girls can raise their arms without being ebarrased but drk haired girls even though our underarms are shaved-somehow you can still see through the thin skin- I have heard of lazer treatments but what else is there that is less scary?I wear tank tops still in the summer but just once I would like to show off my armpits when I put my hair up or something in front of someone- I'm too embarrased. There is a laser treatment for hair removal, but it is expensive. If your skin is dark too, it will change the pigment of your skin though. So the dreaded wax may be your only option :P

I suffer from excessive sweating and body hair and, after researching on the internet, think I may have too many male hormones as opposed to female estrogen. I am considering going to my GP about it but am worried the treatment might change my personality. I am very much a tomboy and also I'm gay so I'm worried that if I start increasing my female hormones I'll change which I don't want at all. I'm not so worried about turning straight because I think being gay has more to do than just your hormones but I'm scared that my personality will change in other ways. I like pantene they have really good products. try the one that says intensive moisture or something like that.

and if you decide to straighten your hair you should use aphogee. it is supposed to keep hair healthy and undo some of the damage of the chemicals.

I take vitamin E (fish oil nature made) 1200 mgs twice to three times a day.

I also use Aussie Moist Shampoo and Aussie Moist Conditioner (around $ 7 a piece for the big bottles) and I love it. Is your hair curly that is why you want to straighten it?

Get your hair feeling smoother and softer first before doing more damage. You can try a salon but I bet Aussie will work. If not there are all kinds of moist shampoos/conditioners out there w/o the cost of the salon.

Not only are you chemically altering her hair, you're bleaching it, which by the way is one of the most drastic things you can do to your already-fragile hair follicles. You need to wait at least 3-4 weeks between any chemical procedures; now, her hair won't just fall out, but it will dry out (which it's going to do with either treatment, both are very drying) immensely and in about three months, she'll have to chop off inches of hair just to make sure it doesn't split up the shaft.

I have very dry hair. It feels like straw all the time. It seems like I have tried everything from Pantene to Biosilk to John Freida and no products seem to make a difference. I don't wash my hair everyday, I only blow dry or straighten a couple times a week, so I don't see how my hair can be so dry all the time. It is always breaking off and the ends split super easily. I trim it regularly, but the split ends just keep splitting. When it's wet, it looks like a rats nest of tangles. What am I doing wrong? What products REALLY work for super dry hair? it might be, but it could have a lot to do with life events like puberty and pregnancies can cause changes in hair's texture and color. I think your's is damaged you should get a leave in conditioner and put it on right before bed, then wrap your hair up in a bandana and sleep like that, it will help your hair become more healthy (sounds like you heat style it a lot) and get your ends trimmed every 6 weeks!

I've asked this question before, but I never seem to get a solid answer. Mostly I want to know how these two treatments compare for "non-african" coarse, wavy, virgin (untreated) hair. I know it sucks cutting your hair if you like the length it's at, but it's really the only way.

I used to have a Chi straightner, but I found it dried my hair out faster...I have since then switched to the Paul Mitchell flat iron..I think it works much better. It's around $120 dollars.

Perhaps you should try switching up your shampoo/conditioner/product routine. Sometimes the hair gets buildup and/or used to a certain product...meaning it doesn't work as effectively anymore.

My last idea would be to get a deep conditioning treatment at a salon...I think they run under $100 dollars, but I can't say for sure.

They recommend it highly at the beauty school I go to. Your local beauty school should be able to do a reconditioning treatment for you-our school charges $7 for one.

I recently had laser hair removal done by a dermatologist; on my fourth or fifth treatment, because my skin was slightly tan, I received burns all over the area with very superficial brown scarring (like a very, very thin scab). The brown areas are now peeling off and the skin underneath is normal texture, but is very very light (not pink). Is this just regeneration of the skin, or could it be permanent hypopigmentation? I just used the new Loreal Couleur Expert. (Its 2 steps. Dye allover and then highlight) well the highlights are super orange brassy and I put too many in the front. I used 6.1-cool- light ash brown called French Eclair. The 1-888 Loreal number doesnt work til 9 am Monday. Can I redye my hair today to an allover brown color? Should I wait, I hear there is a 48-72 hour window but not sure if I need to do something before then, during then etc. My hair is fairly healthy I use cond daily and special treatment about 1 to 2 a week.... advise?

Normally, you should wait a few days before attempting to recolor your hair. Here's the catch, though: you're really going to need to strip the existing color from the hair before you recolor it. As a rule, color does not "grab" new color well, so you need to strip the color with a color remover (you can get them at Sally's Beauty Supply, or some drugstores) to make the hair ready to take the new color you'd like to dye it. Again, wait a few days so that your scalp can get back to normal. You run the risk of burning the delicate skin there if you do a dye job again too soon (not so much a problem with the hair as the scalp, usually).

My skin tone is naturally golden colored and it gets pale in the winter so my black hair fits (doesn't come off looking too dramatic) but during the summer I naturally get a nice golden/olive tan and noticed that my black hair can be a bit dramatic.

My hair is naturally a medium brown color(think Anne Hathaway color to a bit lighter in summer). I've dyed my hair about six times, and I always get bored with it after a week or so. I've tried the Kool-Aid treatment[koolaid%26amp;%26amp;conditioner], and I've used temporary[14 wash] dyes. I really want a black or purple color, but I don't want it to last more than a week. Is there a way to get this besides spray in? Spray in clogs my hair and makes it very oily. Thanks a lot if you can help! {PS- yes I've had black before. It was 14 wash, and was completely gone in three days. after two washes. go figure. the purple lingered for six months though, with the same dye.}

I bought a pack of TCB Hot Oil Treatment and followed the instructions to a T...and ended up with a mess of lard in my hair.

Here's what i did:

I shampooed and rinsed my haire. Towel blotted. Put in a tube of the hot oil and massaged into hair. Then i took a warm damp towel and wrapped around my head for 5 minutes. The instructions said rinse with warm water (and thats the last step!). I rinsed. I had greasy white stuff on my hands and wondered what the heck i did to my hair. I've never done this stuff so excuse my hair ignorance. I rinsed and rinsed but it was so damn greasy and the stuff was all under my fingernails! I ended up washing it out and it was still oily later. Even now its a little oily. My hair is shinier, yes, but so wieghed down. What did i do wrong?

P.S. I have african american hair that's relaxed.

I have never heard of a "Hot Oil Treatment" doing this. They have been around for many years. The only thing I can think would be something to do with your hair having been relaxed and maybe the chemicals didn't mix and gelled the oil.Try using cooler water when shampooing and rinsing your hair while trying to get the oil out. It will eventually come out. I wouldn't suggest using this again. If you still have the packet, write or call the number on the back and tell them what happened. It is important for them to have this type of feedback to make their products safer to use.

I think maybe you used too much oil - or maybe the product works against your hair, not with it. You really aren't supposed to put the oil on your roots either - did you do that? All of these things could have combined to give you a hair mess. Chuck it, IMO. You should run out and get the Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo - it works great to relieve product buildup.

I think the V05 Hot Oil Treatment is really good too - I use it a lot!!! Good luck!

My hair is very long, fairly thick and is a dark brown with natural red highlights. I have virgin hair...the only thing I've ever done to it is cut it.

I try to take care of my hair. I condition it daily, use a soft bristle brush and get regular hair cuts. I do use a blow dryer (I know, shame on me!), but I try to let my hair dry 80% on it's own and then use low heat to dry it the rest of the way. I don't put my hair in tight bands that will break it off (at home if I want my hair up I wear scrunchies...great for long hair!) and I also sleep with it down so it doesn't break off. Is there anything else I should be doing to keep it healthy? It's fairly shiny on it's own but I'm thinking about using a hot oil treatment every now and then, but I don't know anything about that. Luckily, I got my dad's hair. It's healthy without me having to really do anything to it. However, I want to make sure it stays that way! Thanks :-)

I assume you bought the protein reconstructing line. All you really needed was the 2 minute intensive reconstructor (protein treatment) and a good moisturing conditioner to use after your protein treatment.

The leave in is okay, I use it to balance out the moisturizing I get from Paul Mitchell's - The Conditioner.

Use the 2 minutes reconstructor every other week or if your breakage isn't too bad once every 4 weeks.

if youre stressing thats probably half the reason...

do you have dandruff?

dandruff causes you to scratch your head which causes a lot of breakage. if you have dandruff, wash your hair every other day and do not scratch it.

your scalp might be really dry. massage your hair with oil at least 1-2 times a week to get moisture in your hair.

it could also be your shampoo and conditioner.

i use aveda scalp control shampoo and conditioner and it works great. i used to have the same problem as you but now my hair doesn't fall out and its healthy.

I'm a 22 yr old guy.I've got shoulder length hair.I recently rebonded my hair Straight.Its been almost four months now.I'm fed up of this Super Straight Hair Look.Noe I'm really missing my natural waves and Curls in my Hair.So My question is;Can Straightened hair be reverted back to their natural form??? I also had this weird Idea... Chemical straightening actually breaks the bonds in your hair right? And the effects of chemical straighteners only last for a month or so. "Re-Bonded" means permed. You have had a perm solution used to straighten your hair. "Perm" is short in the hair industry for permanent. Some people get a perm and it falls out in just a few weeks....others are stuck with it until it grows off. If you want your natural hair back you are going to have to Cut off and start again. Once you remove your Natural curl there is no way to get it back. You can go and have a perm put in that will or may be close to your natural curl but it will not be the same.

Oh honey, I feel ya, once in the 5th grade I got a perm to my naturally straight beautiful waist length smooth as glass hair. It's never been the same since. Stupid Madonna with her perms and big coney bras and baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad influences. Yeah but anyways, so I would be really careful doing a home treatment or going back to the salon, because more chemicals=more damage. And you could end up with bad frizzy damaged hair instead of hair you just don't like. Just a word to the wise. When you wash your hair always use lukewarm water. Hot water will dry out your hair. Don't use shampoo designed for oily hair. It is best to use a shampoo designed for normal hair I'd use Pantene classic clean shampoo and conditioner.

When washing your hair, use a dime to quarter sized blob of shampoo apply it to your scalp and upper head area. Use the majority of the shampoo lather on the scalp. To wash the ends, let the shampoo foam and suds gently flow down your hair. Let enough suds drain through your ends to clean them. Never apply shampoo directly to the ends this will dry your ends out. If you want to, you can take some of the suds and carefully pat them to the dry ends. Just remember to be gentle and careful.

Use Pantene classic care conditioner but make sure it is at least a few inches away from your scalp. Never apply conditioner directly to your scalp area. Make sure you rinse well. Use a cool water rinse as your final rinse. This will moisturize to your ends and will cut down any oiliness on your scalp

Pantene has this great overnight hair treatment or sometimes I use one of the Pantene hair masks. Just use it on the dry parts of your hair.You can also use slightly warm extra virgin olive oil, jojoba oil or baby oil, on your dry hair areas, 30 minutes before you shower.

Try not to over dry your hair with a blow dryer, if you use a hair dryer make sure your hair is damp. Pantene has great gels, hair sprays etc for various hair types.

Also getting your hair trimmed regularly helps with the dry ends.

I have the exact same problemo... First of all, I just want to make sure you aren't putting conditioner on your root line... That is the number one way people get greasy scalp! For best results, use a gel shampoo rather than a creamy one, and when you do apply conditioner, only put it on your ends, as they are the most damaged and dry parts. Your roots are healthy because it's newer hair. Biolage normalizing shampoo is good, as well as their ultra-hydrating conditioner.

Your ends are so dry because you probably have to wash it daily due to your oily scalp. The trick is to actually wash your hair less often...There are great dry shampoos/sprays (any drugstore should have them) if not, try putting baby powder on your scalp (rub in very well!) this is a great way to soak up the excess oil. Then, just wash and deep condition your hair every other day using good quality products. I personally like redken all-soft (you can find this at salons)

i totally fried my hair a couple of months ago but i got it all normal again by getting a really good conditioner and a leave in one. for a few days use ALOT of conditioner then dont use any for a day then use a little less conditioner for a few days then eventually ur hair will go nice and shiny =]

u can also get shampoos and conditioners for dry and damaged hair.

if that doesnt work i guess u could let it go greasy before washing it (gross i kno) but u never know it could work.
